Silent Impression of a Moment 1
Hof Ter Saksen - Haasdonk, Belgium - 2010
This exhibition featured impressions of mostly ink sketches on paper. I wanted to create an opportunity for the spectator to look over my shoulder and mimic the experience of having a brief glimpse in my sketchbook. You can take the title, Silent Impressions of a Moment, quite literally. The sketches are creative impressions on paper that can be considered preliminary studies within a larger theme. The sketches were later reinterpreted into larger formats using different techniques into a follow-up exhibition in the same location. This first exhibition allowed the audience to witness and experience the start of a process.
The theme is mainly portraits and encounters that left short-lived impressions.
